Become a Blue Sky Hero
All you have to do is sign up for this fun webinar to start contributing today.
Tune in for an ScIC-inspired session with the experts from PocketLab and Georgia Tech. We’ll be chatting about:
The importance of the UrbanHeatATL project and how it’s contributing to climate change solutions.
Why PocketLab Weathers and Notebook are a big part of this exciting project.
How administrators, teachers, and students can join the fight against climate change and become Blue Sky Heroes.
The Heat Is On
Georgia Tech students are using PocketLab Weather to measure temperatures throughout Atlanta for a project called UrbanHeatATL.
The goal? To track areas of highly concentrated structures that trap the sun’s heat, known as “heat islands.”
Why This Matters
Because citizen science matters. The data collected follows specific protocols so that it could be used by scientific researchers to help solve global climate challenges caused by heat islands.
How You Can Help
It’s easy. Empowering K-12 students to contribute to the Blue Sky Hero Heat Islands Project Map provides real-world data to researchers solving big problems in the STEM community.
