Families across Texas now have a new option for hands-on science learning.
We’re excited to announce that PocketLab is officially an approved vendor for the Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program. This means eligible Texas families can use TEFA funds to access PocketLab science tools, curriculum, and digital learning resources.
For homeschool families and flexible learning environments, this approval opens new opportunities to bring interactive, experiment-based science learning into everyday education.
The Texas Education Freedom Accounts program allows eligible families to use state-provided education funds for approved learning expenses such as curriculum, instructional materials, tutoring, and supplemental education services.
For students learning outside traditional public schools—including homeschool environments—funding can be used to purchase educational resources that support student learning.
This flexibility allows families to choose tools and programs that best fit their child’s learning style and educational goals.
With PocketLab now approved as a TEFA vendor, Texas families can use program funds to access engaging science learning experiences designed for middle and high school students.
PocketLab resources include:
Students can reinforce essential life science concepts using engaging video-based lessons and guided activities created with the popular Amoeba Sisters.
PocketLab sensors and lab activities allow students to conduct real experiments at home—collecting data, analyzing results, and exploring scientific questions through investigation.
PocketLab provides structured curriculum as well as supplemental resources that support a wide range of science topics, including physics, environmental science, biology, and data analysis.
Research and classroom experience consistently show that students learn science best by doing science. PocketLab was designed to make experimentation accessible outside of traditional laboratories.
With PocketLab tools, students can:
These inquiry-based learning experiences help students develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a deeper understanding of scientific concepts.
Texas families interested in using PocketLab through the TEFA program can explore our available science tools, curriculum, and other learning resources or email contact@thepocketlab.com.
We’re excited to support families across Texas with engaging STEM experiences that help students explore, experiment, and discover.
