PD EVENT

Your Hosts

What is IIHS-HLDI?

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) is an independent, nonprofit organization focused on reducing deaths, injuries, and property damage from motor vehicle crashes through research and education. Its affiliate, the Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI), supports this mission by analyzing insurance data on crash-related losses. Funded by 100+ auto insurance companies and associations, both organizations are committed to saving lives through education. They work to provide students and teachers with real-world STEM learning experiences that show how science and technology improve vehicle crashworthiness and crash avoidance.

What is PocketLab?

PocketLab is on a mission to help educators overcome barriers to creating a more engaged and interactive STEM classroom. Their intuitive, multi-functional probeware sensors, expanding collection of standards-aligned curriculum content, and professional development events empower educators and inspire students with the wonders of science. Developed by educators, their sensors transform classrooms into interactive labs with customizable lessons and real-time data collection allowing hands-on experiments across various scientific disciplines, fostering immersive and dynamic learning.
